Carlo Riva is Full Professor of Electromagnetics at Politecnico di Milano where is teaching in electromagnetics courses since 1999. His main research activities are in the fields of tropospheric propagation of millimeter-waves, propagation impairment mitigation techniques, and satellite communication adaptive systems. He participated in the Olympus and Italsat propagation measurement campaigns, in various COST actions on propagation and telecommunications (255, 280 and IC0802), in the Satellite Communications Network of Excellence (SatNEx) and in the H2020-COMPET-2-2016 (Research and Innovation action, RIA, Project Number: 730104) project “Q/V Band Earth Segment Link for Future High Throughput Space Systems”. He is Italian delegate in the Steering Committee of the Network of Experts on Propagation of the European Space Agency. He is presently acting as Principal Investigator of the Italian Space Agency for the Alphasat ‘Aldo Paraboni’ Q/V Band propagation experiment.
